Hyperventilation (over-breathing) can lie below many illnesses as a primary cause. Even cancerous cells thrive on it. Nobel Prize Prof. Otto Warburg asserted that cancer, more than any other illness, presents an unlimited series of secondary causes but only one primary cause, which is the substitution of the aerobic breathing (correct) for that based on fermentation (incorrect); an effect of hyperventilation.

This does not mean that each hyper-ventilator will develop a tumour but that those who have a predisposition may trigger it by means of a defective breathing and other secondary co-causes.

In the 50s the Russian doctor Konstantin Buteyko raised the question: “is the sickness what contributed to the patients’ heavy breathing or was it their heavy breathing that contributed to and worsened their sickness?” Buteyko studied hundreds of thousands of patients and found out that correct breathing has a determining role in health, healing, recovery and prevention.

To regain the correct way of breathing of childhood, when this vital function had not yet been altered. As we grow, we take on unnatural postures, limit muscular activity and increase stress and rushing. Harmful habits develop and set in. We begin to regularly over-breath. Today we can see this dangerous defect in young children due to their sedentary life-style, the excess of sugar and toxic industrial processed food we feed them on for convenience and lack of information.

To return to the physiologically correct breathing is obviously one more crucial step towards optimal health and a rosier future.

Our intervention consists of a first assessment of your respiratory habits, the tailoring of bespoke exercised, studied and tested by innumerable Buteyko instructors and by Buteyko himself, and a follow-up to check your progress with the aim of taking you to a satisfactory respiratory state. Now, in possession of knowledge and the necessary skills, you will be able to complete your rehab by yourself.

And, very important, we’ll show you how to test your general state of health anytime you wish by means of the Control Pause. You will be in control of yourself.

The course requires individual face-to-face sessions or in very small groups.

Buteyko breathing readjustment

The rehab can help in case of emphysema, fibrosis, bronchitis, and is excellent for asthma.

Likewise it is beneficial for diabetes, varicose veins, essential hypertension, arrhythmia, tachycardia, cholesterol, angina, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression and sleep apnoea.

It is worth mentioning that CO2 is a very powerful tranquilizer.

In young people and in healthy subjects Buteyko increases the intellectual performance, concentration, calm, and sports performances.

It is interesting that in the TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder there can be sleep disruptions, apnoea, light-headed feelings, tiredness and stress as co-cause or effect of the disorder. Breathing rehabilitation can thus help in case of TMJ disorder too.
